Battleram

The Battle Ram is a vehicle that features in the 1980s Masters of the Universe toyline and the animated television series based on the toyline, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, produced by Filmation.

Description

The Battle Ram is a huge, blue tank-like vehicle capable of battering down objects in its path. The Battle Ram is so powerful it is capable of battering down huge mountains. The front section of the Battle Ram detaches as a flying Sky-Sled.

Trivia

In the episode "Diamond Ray of Disappearance" the Sky-Sled was incorrectly referred as The Battle Ram.

Minicomics

The Battle Ram is the first MOTU vehicle featured in the minicomics. It is He-Man's personal vehicle, a gift from The Goddess.

Quick! To the Ram-mobile!

In the TV series (and subsequent minicomics) the Battle Ram's Sky-Sled is shown as a generic vehicle, with both Heroic and Evil Warriors using them often. The similar War-Sleds used by Evil Warriors are green, although these were never produced as toys.

2002 Series

In the 2002 MOTU series, a new vehicle with a similar name appears: the Battle Ram Chariot. The vehicle is unrelated to the original Battle Ram, and is Skeletor's personal chariot, pulled by two battering rams (hence the name).

Kinda better than the animation model, huh?

The original release of the Battle Ram was in 1982, with the first wave of MOTU figues, making it the first vehicle in the toyline. Capable of seating one figure, the front of the vehicle detaches to form a Sky-Sled, while the rear fires plastic projectiles, operated by a spring-loaded lever.

Now THAT'S pimpin' a ride!

The newer version of the vehicle is a radically different design, capable of standing one standard figure. A button shoots the rams at the front of the chariot forward, while rolling the chariot forward causes the rams to 'gallop.' A passenger stand pulls out at the back, and the vehicle came with an exclusive Skeletor figure, complete with Havoc Staff.
