Ileena is a character in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
History[]
Ileena is a warrior maiden with long blonde hair. She is the daughter of the sage Zicran and a good friend of Teela's.
Ileena suffers from a crippling lack of self-confidence, something which made her easy prey for the evil sorcerer Jarvan, who had escaped from the Prison Mines and was seeking retribution against He-Man and King Randor, the ones responsible for sending him away. Disguised as an elderly woman, Jarvan gave Ileena a potion which gave her confidence a temporary boost, but it also contained a dangerous drug that Ileena quickly became hooked on, nearly causing her to kill Prince Adam and herself while under its influence. Ileena eventually helped He-Man capture Jarvan, and He-Man sent him back to the prison mines.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The character model sheet for Ileena indicated that her midriff was covered by armor. But the colorists decided to make this section flesh-colored, giving her a much more revealing outfit than originally meant.
- Ileena was supposed to make an appearance in the Masters of the Universe: Revelation episode Poisoned Chalice, voiced by Kevin Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith. Although her lines were recorded, the scene was cut. It would have been revealed that Ileena had become the new Captain of the Eternian Guard, taking Teela's place. Together with a battalion of Royal Guards, Ileena was posted outside Castle Grayskull/The Hall of Wisdom to make sure nobody would enter it. Teela and Andra would end up fighting Ileena and the guards while Evil-Lyn snuck into the Castle during the battle.
