The Snake Clan rose to become a leading human nation on Eternia. It was a late-generation society of Ancient Ones.
During the Preternia era, the Snake Clan was led by Zilora and was originally at peace with the Ape Clan, but their relationships changed when Skeletor and several of his Evil Warriors travelled back into the past.
Skeletor, or 'Ghost-Face' as Zilora called him, took control of Ollo, master of the Ape Clan and forced them to attack and capture members of the Snake Clan to be used as slaves in the building of a Fortress for Skeletor.
When He-Man and a few of his Heroic Warriors warriors followed Skeletor into the past, they were met by a delegation of the Snake Clan in the ancient version of the Evergreen Forest. After Orko used a magic spell to make the future warriors understand the Snake Clan's ancient dialect, they soon teamed up to defeat Skeletor. After this, the Snakes and the Apes resumed their peaceful ways and eventually formed the foundation of the leading races on Eternia.
