Mutiny on the Mothership is the 50th episode of The New Adventures of He-Man.
The Mutant Mothership and the Colossus are both caught in a large Ion storm and heading each others way. While inside the storm, Staghorn and several of the other Mutants have grown tired of Flogg's leadership and stage a mutiny.
Plot Summary[]
The Scientists of Primus have detected a large ion storm heading for Primus. Krex orders the cancellation of all outbound flights from Primus Space Base and to contact the Starship Colossus which is near enough to be pulled in by the storm. But Captain Hydron reports the ship has already been hit by the storm. To make matters worse, the Mutant Mothership is heading towards them from the other side.
The Evil Mutants are on their way to try and persuade the Vizepians to join their cause when they are surprised by the Ion storm. Flogg orders Crita to go to Quatra-Vision, but can see nothing on the viewscreen. When Flogg goes to inspect the docking bay, Staghorn, who has grown tired of Flogg's leadership, tells Quakke they can take over the ship. They are soon joined by BH and his Mutant Troopers. When the three of them confront Flogg, Skeletor and Crita stand back to see who will win. Slush Head comes to Flogg's aid, but Optikk joins the other side as they flee from the bridge.
Now Flogg, Skeletor, Crita and Slush Head are trapped on the bridge. Staghorn's troopers try to get through the security doors with laser torches and Optikk tries with a Terrortread. Moments after the doors have been breached, Crita reseives a message from the Colossus, which has collided with the Mothership and is now hooked onto it. Flogg suggests they deal with the Guardians before they settle their own battle.
Skeletor quietly proposes that Flogg helps the Guardians get free, then destroy them, thereby regaining the respect of his crew. Flipshot and He-Man each pilot an Astrosub and work together with Staghorn in a Mutant Fighter to cut the Colossus free. Unfortunately, the last part has to be cut by hand with a torch. He-Man naturally volunteers to do this and jumps out of his Astrosub onto the wing of the Colossus. He uses his sword rather than a torch, and despite the worsening storm, manages to free the ship. Skeletor and the other Mutants take advantage of this by entering Fighters and attack He-Man in his vulnerable position as well as the other Guardians. Flipshot defeats Slush Head by firing Gepple's Goo at his Mutant Fighter, then defeats Crita as well.
Skeletor insists on attacking He-Man on his own, but Flogg orders him to return to the Mothership, or else he will open fire at Skeletor. Suddenly the Ion storm disappears and the Vizeepians appear on the Mutant's viewscreen. They explain that they created the storm and brought the Guardians to the Mutants to test. They deem the Mutants unworthy of their friendship and will not allign themselves with them. They tell the men of Primus that they might contact them in the future, and orders them to return home, as all of the weapons on both ships are temporarily deactivated.
Moral[]
Krex is showing Hydron his new AquaCad. Hydron wonders why Krex isn't wearing a life vest. Krex answers that he doesn't need one, and promplty gets swept overboard by a large gulf. Hydron helps him back in and hands over a life vest simultaniously, telling him and the viewers that it can save one's life.
