Plot Summary[]
The Galactic Guardians are battling the Evil Mutants on the Mutant planet of Denebria. The Guardians are flying in Astrosubs while the Mutants use the landbased Terrortreads and Terrorclaws, which malfunction and cause them to retreat into the Quagmi Swamp.
Flogg blames the vehicles for their defeat. A Mutant mechanic states the machines are too far gone to be fixed. But Flogg finds a plaque on one of the vehicles offering 'Makkina Terrortread Service'. Skeletor sugests they contact them at once, and a repair ship is dispatched from the Cetus Galaxy, which arrives almost instantly. Emar, the Makkina representative, concludes that all the Mutant's vehicles are obselete, so Skeletor inquires if they can purchase newer versions.
Master Sebrian is pleased to hear about the poor quality of the Mutant's vehicles from He-Man, but The the Sorceress appears and informs them that the Mutants are headed to Makkina for new equipment. She tells He-Man to make himself part of the plan. Sebrian decides to contact Makkina himself and travel there with Gleep in the Starship Eternia.
During a short tour of the planet Makkina, the Guardians and Mutants are impressed to learn about the Master Control Robot that provides the energy source and the designs for everything the Makknoks need. Skeletor becomes intend on duplicating the Master Control Robot's brain and use it to conquer Primus. Meanwhile, He-Man and Sebrian notice that the peaceful people of Makkina appear to be under the control of the Protectons.
Skeletor tries to find out the location of the Master Control Robot, but the Mutants are immediately captured by Protectons. Elan informs He-Man and Sebrian that the Protectons have decided to end the war between Primus and Denebria by occupying both planets. The Primans are soon also captured in Energy Nets, but He-Man uses his power sword to release both parties from the nets.
The Guardians are on the run from the Protectons when Emar appears and tells them to follow him. He reveals himself to be part of a resistance against the machines. The Mutants follow them into the resistance underground tunnels, thinking they will lead to the Master Control Robot. Three dangerous bariers have to be passed in order to reach the Master Control Robot, but He-Man manages to get through the first two with ease and with a little help from Gleep, also passes the third.
It turns out the Master Control Robot has duplicated himself. Each one of it's smaller versions can control all of the machines on Makkina. He-Man is captured in a static cage by the Protectons. The Mutants grab one of the duplicate brains and summon their Mothership, which blasts a hole in the ceiling and lets down a tractor beam to retrieve the Mutants. He-Man manages to break free from his electronic prison and asks Emar and Zak to reprogram the Master Control Robot.
Meanwhile, Skeletor has had one of his Tech Mutants install the computer brain on the Mothership. But instead of giving it ultimate power, it drains all the power of the ship, leaving it floating helplessly in space. He-Man and the Guardians keep fighting the Protectons until Emar and Zak disconnect the Master Control, causing all the robots to lose power. Zak wants to destroy them all, but Emar vows to rebuild and reprogram them so that this time, the Makkinaks will remain in charge.
