Marvel Comics is an American comic book publisher. Along with DC Comics, it is one of the top two publishers that controls a majority of the market. In the mid-1980s, the Masters of the Universe comic book license transitioned from DC to Marvel.
Between 1986 and 1987, thirteen issues of Masters of the Universe were published under Marvel's Star Comics imprint, which was aimed at younger viewers. Star Comics also published a comic book adaptation of the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie.
