The Guns of Nordor is the 47th episode of The New Adventures of He-Man.

The people of Primus are prisoners on their own planet thanks to the Evil Mutants bombarding them with the Guns of Nordor. The Galactic Guardians mount a mission to the dark side of moon Nordor to destroy its artillery.

Plot Summary[]

Flogg orders his Mutant Troopers to man their firing stations. Slush Head is allowed to fire the Mutant's new powerful laser weapons, accurate enough to hit a far-away target as the planet Primus. Titus Observatory relays to the Galactic Guardians that the Guns of Nordor have been fired. Captain Hydron, leading a squadron of Astrosub is caught in the blast. Flipshot attempts a rescue with Sagitar and Tuskador aboard the Starship Eternia.

He-Man holds a meeting with the Guardians and states that the Guns of Nordor have caused the people of Primus to become prisoners on their own planet. Hydron ads that the Mutants are firing at random through holes in the shield, making it impossible for the Guardians to guard them. They are mounting a mission to destroy the guns, and Gepple will join them as he has invented a new explosive to be used during the mission.

The only unguarded position is on the dark side of moon Nordor. The Guardians will split into two teams of Astrosubs. Tuskador, Spinwit and Flipshot will pretend to make a direct attack with their squadron while the other team is going to attack from the cliffs. Slush Head fires both cannons and appears to destroy the Colossus, but luckily it was only a decoy designed by Gepple. Now the Guardians will be able to travel safely for a while as the guns need time to reload.

He-Man, Artilla and Gepple land their Astrosubs on the dark side of Nordor and proceed by foot, while the other team engages a squadron of Shuttle Pods. He-Man's group is attacked by a giant Rock Lizard, but manage to chase it off. They use jetpacks to get up the cliffs of Nordor, only to face Quakke and a squadron of Mutant Troopers, whom they manage to defeat.

On the other front, Fipshot crashlands and is captured by Troopers riding Terrortreads. Tuskador and Spinwit have also allowed themselves to be captured. He-Man arrives in the Mutant's headquarters carrying a case filled with Gepple's Explosives. He tells the Mutants that the timer has already been set and they only have three Dollops left. Flogg is hesitant to believe him, but Skeletor knows He-Man is telling the truth. The Mutants leave, and so do the Guardians after Gepple plants the explosives in the right place. As they travel back through the hills of Nordor, the guns of Nordor are blown to bits.

Moral[]

Flipshot stayed up late watching a movie and almost crashes into an asteroid. Thankfully, he and Hydron were using the Flight Simulator instead of being actually out in space. Hydron reminds him to always be properly rested before performing a task.
