The Missing Ax is the 9th episode of She-Ra: Princess of Power.
Plot Summary[]
When two boys lose their father's ax due to their neglect, they decide to lie that it was stolen from them. This backfires when Bow travels to a Horde-controlled village to find the thief and is captured by Mantenna.
Synopsis[]
Moral[]
Loo-Kee: "Hi! Here's Loo-Kee again. Did you find where I was hiding today? If not, take another look. See me now? Today's story was about trust. Trust takes a long time to build, and a single lie can destroy it in a moment. Thad and Kyle found that out. Even when you've done something wrong, it's best to tell the truth. Bye now! See you next time."

Behind the Scenes[]
- Script was approved September 17, 1984 and final script revision took place February 27, 1985.
- The character models for Mach, Kyle and Thad were designed by artist Alice Hamm and were finalized on December 13,1984.
- Strangely, when Adora transforms into She-Ra to save the Scruffer from a Horde Trooper she doesn't transform Spirit into Swift Wind despite him being with her at the time.
- As originally scripted, during the fight between She-Ra and Mantenna, She-Ra was hit by one of Mantenna's freeze rays. As he begins to gloat, Madame Raz appears to save the day by shrinking Mantenna to eight centimeters in height.
- This is the only time in the series that Madame Raz makes an appearance unaccompanied by Broom.
Continuity[]
- The animated sequence of She-Ra hugging Bow is based on the scene of She-Ra hugging He-Man in Reunions.
- The character model used for Mach, the father, would appear again as a background character in the episode Portrait of Doom.
Errors[]
- Kowl complains about flying back and forth to get help, but he actually rode Bow's horse, Arrow.
- As Arrow and Kowl race off after telling She-Ra that Bow has been captured, the bottom part of the background plate is largely unpainted.
