The Sorceress shows to He-Man an image of his childhood friend, Prince Dakon, escaping from a man named Geldor who has already captured the old man known as Torgul. He-Man decides to help Dakon.

Somewhere in the Evergreen Forest, the Heroic Warriors find Dakon, Who explains them that Geldor wants the Secret Liquid of Life, the secret for eternal life, and Torgul knows where it is.

Meanwhile, Geldor has his wizard conjure an illusion of Maran, Torgul's daughter, to trick him into telling that the liquid is buried in the Ogre's Cavern in the Mystic Mountains.

At the entrance of Geldor's dungeon, the Heroic Warriors defeat his creatures, including a giant centipede that He-Man knocks out with one punch. The Heroic Warriors find Torgul, who explains that he told everything after believing Geldor had Maran captive. It's also revealed that Maran is Dakon's fiancee.

He-Man and his friends reach the Ogre's Cavern. Ram-Man breaks the sealed entrance, and they are "welcomed" by Gnolls, creatures who can drain one's strength just by looking at one, but He-Man uses his shield to reflect their power. Then there's the ogre of the cavern; He-Man ties his hands and knocks him out.

Dakon finds and takes the Secret Liquid of Life, but Geldor arrives and shows he has captured Teela and Maran, and this time it's no illusion. He-Man seems to be handing the liquid to Geldor, but instead drops it at his feet. It falls into a small plant that turns into a tree that carries and seemingly devours Geldor, while breaking through to the surface. Dakon decides he and Maran will be married beneath the tree and asks He-Man to be his best man.

  • Despite He-Man never using the Prince Adam identity in the comic, it is still implied by the fact of having another Prince (Dakon) as a childhood friend.
  • Teela keeps her hair down and uses an orange leotard unlike her toy cosume throughout the comic.
  • It isn't explained at which point does Teela get separated from the Heroic Warriors to be captured. She is even seen arriving to the Ogre's Cavern with the others.
